Halifax New Year’s Day Closures and Openings

On January 1, here is the status of openings and closures in the Halifax area:

**Groceries:**
– Walmart, Sobeys, Atlantic Superstore, and Costco will be closed on New Year’s Day and resume operations on January 2.
– Shoppers Drug Mart will have varied hours at different locations. Visit their website for specific details.
– Gateway Meat Market will be closed on January 1 and reopen on January 2.
– Some smaller independently owned grocery stores may be open on January 1; it is advisable to call ahead.

**Beer, Wine, and Spirits:**
