Brianne Jenner netted two goals to guide the Ottawa Charge to a 5-2 victory over the Minnesota Frost during Saturday’s matchup. The win marked the Charge’s second regulation victory, extending their winning streak to four games. Alongside Jenner, Emily Clark, Sarah Wozniewicz, and Kateřina Mrázová also found the back of the net, while Gwyneth Philips made 24 saves. Jenner sealed the win with an empty-net goal with 2:44 left on the clock.

For the Frost, Kelly Pannek and Britta Curl-Salemme scored, with Maddie Rooney stopping 17 shots. Ottawa took an early lead in the first period with Jenner’s backdoor tap-in goal. The Frost equalized with a power-play goal early in the second period before Ottawa pulled ahead with three goals in quick succession during the same period.

Clark’s impressive end-to-end rush goal, Wozniewicz’s goal, and Mrazova’s power-play goal solidified Ottawa’s lead. The Frost managed to score late in the period through Curl-Salemme. Ottawa’s confidence and aggressive play in the offensive zone troubled Minnesota, while the Frost struggled to keep up with Ottawa’s speed and defensive positioning.

A notable point was Clark scoring her first point of the season, and Philips crucially made two key saves on Minnesota’s Dominique Petrie in the third period to preserve the two-goal lead. Looking ahead, Ottawa will face the Vancouver Goldeneyes, while Minnesota will take on the Montreal Victoire in their upcoming games.
