The team’s president of hockey operations and general manager, Steve Staios, mentioned that Ullmark will have the full support of the organization during this period without specifying the reasons for his departure. Staios further indicated that no additional comments would be provided out of respect for Ullmark.
Ullmark, aged 32, has achieved 14 victories in 28 games this season, maintaining a 2.95 goals against average and an .881 save percentage. His most recent game was on Saturday in a 7-5 defeat to the Toronto Maple Leafs, where he allowed four goals on 14 shots. The Senators are scheduled to play against the Columbus Blue Jackets on Monday.
