“Trump Warns Iran, Hamas: Disarm or Face Consequences”

U.S. President Donald Trump stated on Monday that the United States would back another significant attack on Iran if it were to resume developing its ballistic missile or nuclear weapons programs. He also issued a warning to Hamas, stating that severe consequences would follow if the group does not disarm.

Following discussions with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida, Trump highlighted the importance of advancing the delicate Gaza peace agreement he helped negotiate and addressing Israeli apprehensions regarding Iran and Hezbollah in Lebanon. Trump expressed concerns that Tehran might be reinitiating its weapons programs post a substantial U.S. strike in June.

During a press conference with Netanyahu, Trump informed reporters that there were indications of weapon buildup by Iran at potential new locations. He emphasized the need to monitor these activities closely to prevent unnecessary military engagements.

In a separate statement, Trump emphasized the necessity for Hamas to disarm swiftly as part of the second phase of the ceasefire agreement reached in October between Israel and the Palestinian group. Failure to comply, Trump warned, would result in dire consequences for Hamas.

Netanyahu, on the other hand, emphasized Israel’s commitment to the ceasefire agreement but signaled readiness to resume military actions if Hamas does not disarm peacefully. The ongoing tensions have strained the peace deal, with both sides accusing each other of violating terms.

Trump and Netanyahu’s discussions underscored their alignment in addressing regional security challenges despite internal disagreements. While Trump commended Netanyahu’s leadership, the Israeli Prime Minister reciprocated by awarding Trump the prestigious Israel Prize.

Moving forward, the implementation of the ceasefire plan hinges on key steps, including the return of the remains of an Israeli hostage held by Hamas in Gaza. Israel’s demand for the completion of the initial phase before progressing to subsequent stages reflects the complexity of the peace process.

The situation in Gaza remains precarious, with residents expressing fatigue and longing for lasting peace. The challenges ahead require sustained efforts from all parties involved to ensure the successful implementation of the ceasefire plan and prevent further bloodshed.
