Inter Miami CF, the reigning Major League Soccer champions, have signed Canadian goalkeeper Dayne St. Clair for the upcoming season. The agreement was made public on Sunday and includes a potential extension for the 2027 sprint season as MLS transitions to a summer-to-spring schedule.

St. Clair, who was named MLS goalkeeper of the year while playing for Minnesota United in the previous season, led the league with an impressive 77.93 save percentage. He also achieved personal bests in saves, totaling 113, and shutouts, with 10.

The 28-year-old native of Pickering, Ontario, bid farewell to Minnesota fans in December following the expiration of his contract, sparking rumors of a move to Miami. During the last season, Argentina’s Oscar Ustari started 25 regular-season matches for Miami, while American Rocco Rios Novo took the field for the remaining nine games.

St. Clair initially joined Minnesota through the 2019 MLS SuperDraft, where he was selected seventh overall from the University of Maryland. Standing at six-foot-three and weighing 193 pounds, he has represented Canada in international competition, earning 18 caps.
