Joseph Duggar, a former personality from the TV series “19 Kids and Counting” on TLC, was taken into custody in Arkansas on charges of engaging in inappropriate behavior with a minor, as per law enforcement officials. The allegations against Duggar stem from an incident in Florida in 2020. During a forensic interview in March 2026, a 14-year-old girl claimed that Duggar had engaged in inappropriate conduct with her during a family trip to Panama City Beach when she was 9 years old.

Duggar was apprehended in Tontitown, Arkansas, where the show “19 Kids and Counting” was filmed. According to a statement from the Bay County Sheriff’s Office, the victim’s father confronted Duggar about the incidents on March 17, 2026, and Duggar confessed to his actions to both the victim’s father and Tontitown Detectives.

A separate release from the Tontitown Police Department mentioned that a warrant for Duggar’s arrest was issued, and he is awaiting extradition to Bay County. There has been no public statement regarding the allegations from Duggar or his family.

The arrest of Joseph Duggar follows the legal troubles of his brother, Josh Duggar, who was convicted in 2022 for possessing illicit images and videos depicting child sexual abuse. The cancellation of “19 Kids and Counting” by TLC in 2015 was a result of allegations against Josh Duggar for molesting his sisters and a babysitter. Despite the allegations resurfacing in 2015, Duggar’s parents acknowledged his actions and he apologized publicly, leading to his resignation from the Family Research Council.

In a statement made during a TLC special, Joseph Duggar expressed his shock at his brother’s hidden lifestyle, stating that it was heartbreaking to discover the truth.
