Marion Thénault Wins Silver at World Cup Aerials

Canadian freestyle skier Marion Thénault clinched a silver medal during a World Cup aerials competition held on home soil. Thénault secured second place in the women’s event with a total score of 81.78 points. The competition was dominated by American Winter Vinecki, achieving a remarkable score of 93.58, while Emma Weiss from Germany took third place with 79.33 points.

Hailing from Sherbrooke, located approximately 250 kilometers south of Lac-Beauport, Thénault celebrated her fourth podium finish of the World Cup season, comprising two silver and two bronze medals. Notably, she was the sole Canadian athlete to advance to the women’s final round.

In the men’s competition, Ukraine’s Dmytro Kotovskyi claimed the gold medal, trailed by China’s Sun Jiaxu and Quinn Dehlinger from the United States. The highest-ranking Canadian in the men’s event was Miha Fontaine, who finished in eighth place.
