Jansen Simpson, a roofer from Chelsea, Quebec, had a surprising encounter while driving to the gym one morning. He witnessed a gold-colored car flying off the Draveurs Bridge and landing on the ice below. Initially fearing a fatal crash, Simpson was amazed when a young man emerged from the car unscathed.
Simpson, 40, was prepared to rescue the man, equipped with safety ropes and harnesses. Fortunately, the driver managed to walk to shore, albeit cold and limping. Simpson assisted him up the riverbank, jokingly mentioning that he now had eight lives left.
Upon the arrival of emergency crews, they were astonished at the miraculous survival of the driver. The incident was captured by a traffic camera, showing the car clipping another vehicle before soaring off the bridge.
The road conditions were reported to be clear on the day of the incident by Transports Québec. Quebec police have initiated an investigation, although no charges have been filed. Despite appearing unharmed, the driver was taken to the hospital for observation.
Simpson, after the dramatic rescue, continued his journey to the gym, emphasizing the importance of not skipping leg day.
